Herdade Vale Do Manantio

Vale do Manantio situated at the famous Alqueva Lake, a two hour drive frm Lisbon, was considered by the Safari Club Lusitania Chapter, the best hunting estate in Portugal. The Estate won also the “Best Outfitter” award due to its remarkable conditions regarding the quality of the red partridge and larger hunting programs. Lying across 1000 hectares of undulated ground, the Estate is a landscape in constant evolution. From wheat fields to olive groves, river-crossed pastures to the banks of the Alqueva Dam and Lake, Vale do Manantio offers the perfect terrain for spectacular bird hunting.

Shooting:

The Estate offers one of the best classic driven Partridge shooting in Portugal and a spectacular walked up and “mini drive” shooting. Both can be combined perfectly. The privileged location close to the Big Alqueva Lake offers also spectacular Duck shooting! Join us for some exciting days of bird hunting in all variations! 

The Lodge:

The 19th-century estate, offers 14 luxury rooms furnished with antiques, a covered porch with Alentejo landscape views, different living and dining rooms and a full-service spa on site. All of the spacious rooms have a private balcony, are air conditioned, and some include also a fireplace.

The spa features a hot tub overlooking Alqueva Lake. A Turkish bath and massage rooms are also available. Vale Do Manantio offers meals prepared with regional ingredients using family recipes. On designated days, during lunch, an ‘Out of Africa BBQ picnic’ is served outdoors.

The Hunting Estate Pereiro

The Pereiro Hunting Estate, with approximately 7.500 hectares (18.500 acres) is located in the inland hills of the Algarve region, just 30 km away from the coast. Thanks to its hilly landscape, low annual rain fall precipitation and mild temperatures, availability of food and wide spread availability of water thanks to its 12km long river that crosses the property, this wild region is home to one of the best partridge country terrains in the Iberia Peninsula, allowing a much higher annual average of born chicks per couple of partridge than elsewhere.

Shooting

We offer stunning driven and walked up shooting days for teams up to 10 guns. The hunting season starts in October and goes on until January. Once in the estate, all that is needed to fully enjoy the shooting day will be provided and taken care. An enthusiastic and professional team of secretaries and loaders will assist you throughout the day with maximum dedication and discretion. It is possible to have more than 50 totally different drives to choose from, each one providing to the shooters a variety of different authentic scenarios and experiences which is one of the main features of this hunting property. The hunter will fully experience the strength, speed, and wilderness of the real Iberian Partridge.

Away from the crowds and bustle of the tourist centres of the Algarve coast, Alcoutim the small town near the hunting estate is a haven of tranquillity located between the Serra do Caldeirão and the Guadiana River, a natural border with its neighbour Spain.
